Trend: Co-ords

House of Holland Pre S/S 2013
Matthew Williamson S/S 2012

Playing with prints has been a fashion favourite for the past few years. The rule book has been thrown away as everything from leopard print, floral patterns, dogtooth and polka dots have found a way to team together and make one energy fueled look. However, it's time to restore some order. Your matching skills are about to be put to the test as co-ordinates come back in trend.

We first saw the art of co-ordinating two piece outfits on the catwalk for the Spring/Summer 2012 collections. Sass & Bide, Jonathan Saunders, DKNY, Ashish, Peter Jensen and Matthew Williamson are a handful of designers who flirted with the look for this season. Nevertheless, it seems it is a look which is certainly here to say, as the likes of Henry Holland, Anna Sui and Roberto Cavalli showcased matching prints in their Pre Spring/Summer 2013 collections.

The look has also been worn by a whole host of celebrities...

Solange rocked a long blazer with matching short shorts for contrasting lengths mixed with co-ordinating prints at the MoMA Party In The Garden Benefit - 22 May 2012
Rihanna rocked the trend whilst in London. The singer wore a matching Stella McCartney set of silk harem pants and a blouse. She finished off the look with cat eye sunglasses to allude casual glam. - 29 March 2012.

Florence Welsh displayed her eccentric style at the NME awards earlier this year in a Moschino suit - 28 February 2012
The trend has also emegered and took centre stage in our favourite high street stores. Shops such as Topshop and River Island have fully embraced the look and here's some of my favourite co-ordinates out there at the moment...

1. Swan Print Jacket and Shorts, £100, Topshop
2. Floral Print Peplum Top and Shorts, £45, River Island
3. Lime Digital Print Blazer and Pencil Skirt, £65, River Island
4. Floral Union Jack Bralet and Hotpants, £59, Topshop
5. Floral Blazer and Trousers, £105, Topshop
6. Pink Palm Tree Print Bomber Jacket and Shorts, £55, River Island
