Max Azria won me over with each and every outfit displayed at the show of his BCBG collection. For me the collection found the perfect balance between clothing which is wearable yet still has that daring and domineering edge.
The influence of the collection was female fatale and the high contrast of Helmut Newton’s black and white photography. This influence resulted in mixing soft fluid fabrics with black leather harnesses. This was a blend which proved to be effective, striking and altogether powerful.
In my opinion only accessory that is required to carry off this collection effectively is confidence. The outfits shown are certainly those suited to women who are powerful, independent, and know what they want. And that was certainly reflected in those sitting in the front row of the event, including; musician, songwriter and record producer Estelle and Olympic gold medallist sprinter Sanya Richards Ross.
